Module 10 Outline

Some enterprises require staff from the outset, others will take on staff as they grow. Employment generation is usually an objective of a social enterprise, either for a target group or a local community. This is also an area where a vast amount of legislation and best practice exists in terms of procedures and practices. This module aims to assist you through the various staffing decisions and issues applicable, at the end of this module you should be able to:

  • Decide how to get the skills your social enterprise needs to be successful
  • Decide if you should employ staff
  • Plan how you will get staff, train them and judge their work
  • Rights and Responsibilities of community employers
