This module outlines the legalities applicable to starting a social enterprise in Northern Ireland, highlighting issues you may need to explore further and regulations you may need to comply with e.g. licenses, health and safety and so on. We also introduce the main legal forms or types of social economy organisations and enterprises so you are familiar with the terminology before seeking expert advice. In short this module will help you to:

  • Make sure that your social enterprise will be set up legally
  • Make sure your social enterprise will trade legally
  • Meet the current regulations for Health and Safety
